Urgency and fun, rock that sways, at just the right speed without being burdened by the superfluous.

Following the footsteps of summer camp bosses (Marvin at the forefront), Disco Boule arrives with a remarkably effective debut full-length. Noise rock without excess: no vocals, no loops, no keyboards, and no mathematical over-complexity. In fact, they don’t even have a bassist, that’s saying something. The trio delivers music that hits hard, right where you want to be, with its joyful riffs and percussive, dance-ready drums.

As the name of the band and its songs might suggest, we’re not here to take ourselves too seriously and exhale the discomforts of the moment. Here, the outlet will be more of a festive nature, reflecting the trio’s concerts, which prefer a pit configuration, in maximum proximity to an audience invited to a trance. And this album perfectly captures the atmosphere, with some „straight to the point“ bursts (Transit Dominical, Braco Dépôt) skillfully interspersed with party-ready crescendos that take time for the explosions (Magnum 2000, Soirée Mondaine). A perfect sonic balance, perfectly transcribed on record by Raphaël Albouker (Boucan, La Caverne).

A record that works in all circumstances: at the beach, in a carpool, on Sundays, at the races, and at the bar (though there’s no guarantee it’ll work at a social gathering).
